How skills are shown and ranked

On Skillhood you find skills (for example "Cleaning" or "Dog walking") on a map. This page sets out exactly which skills you see and in what order, as the EU Platform-to-Business Regulation (2019/1150) requires.

Which skills you see

Skills within the area you are looking at on the map, or have searched for.
Only if you are within the travel distance the provider set for that skill.
Not shown: paused or incomplete skills (no title, category or location), skills of providers who are away, and deleted accounts.
Filters you choose: category, maximum hourly price and minimum rating. A minimum rating hides skills that have no reviews yet.

In what order

By default: nearest first.
"Top rated": the skill's own rating, highest first; skills without a rating after that.
"Lowest price": skills with an hourly price first (low to high), then fixed prices per job, then "price on request".
Distance breaks any tie.

What does not affect the order

Nobody can pay for a higher position. Skillhood charges providers and clients nothing.
Availability, response speed and the VOG label are shown, but do not change the order.
People at Skillhood itself may also offer skills. They get no preference in order or visibility, and no data other providers do not get.

Reviews

Only clients who completed a booking can review a skill, and a booking can only be completed from its booked day on. For each client, only their latest review of a skill counts. Reviews are double-blind: they appear once both sides have reviewed, or after 14 days. We do not check every review individually; accounts that review each other back and forth are looked at by a person.

Location

A provider can hide their exact location. The map then shows a point on a grid of about 1 km, and distances in steps of 500 m.

Complaints from providers

Disagree with how your skills are shown, or has your account been restricted? Email support@skillhood.app or use "Get help" in the app. We acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and give a full answer within 30 days. Any restriction of your account comes with a reason and is reviewed by a person.
